Hammered Copper Tumblers · Set of Two

£22.99

There's a quiet first ten minutes to a morning, before the grey commute takes over. For generations, Ayurveda has kept a small ritual for it — water rested overnight in copper, tamra jal — and these are the glasses to drink it from. A pair, because a morning glass is rarely just yours.

The form is rounded and easy to hold, no handles, with deep honeycomb dimpling that catches the light from every angle and gives each one a tactile, faceted grip. Cold water poured from solid metal simply tastes better — a glass you actually look forward to, and one that turns a drink of water into something considered.

They're pure, unlined copper inside: bare metal, no plastic liner, nothing between the water and the glass. Substantial enough to be used every day for years — a keep-it-for-good object rather than something you replace. Hand-hammered in India, so no two are quite alike; the small variations in the dimpling are the mark of the handwork, not a fault. An object worth leaving out on the counter, and at £22.99 a genuinely lovely thing to give.

Ships from our UK warehouse, with free 14-day cancellation as standard and your full statutory rights besides.

Care, use & questions

Everything you need to keep your copper at its best.

How do I care for my copper?

Hand-wash only, with warm water and a little washing-up liquid, then dry straight away with a soft cloth. To bring back the shine, rub gently with half a lemon dipped in salt (or a cotton cloth with a little lemon juice and salt), rinse and dry. Do not put copper in the dishwasher.

Why has the colour changed?

Pure copper naturally darkens and develops a patina over time — this is normal and purely cosmetic, not a fault. Many people love the aged look and leave it. If you prefer the bright finish, the lemon-and-salt method above restores it in a minute or two.

Can I store water in it overnight?

Yes — resting water in a copper vessel overnight is the traditional Ayurvedic practice known as tamra jal, kept for generations, and these pieces are made for exactly that. Use them for plain water only — pure, unlined copper, the traditional specification.

What should I not put in it?

Water only. Avoid acidic or fizzy drinks (citrus, vinegar, carbonated drinks) and hot liquids in the bottles and dispenser, as acidity reacts with bare copper. The mugs and tumblers are made for cold drinks.

Is the copper lined?

No — every piece is unlined, pure copper inside and out, in the traditional specification. Nothing sits between the water and the metal.

Where is it made?

Each piece is hand-hammered and finished by hand in India, so no two are exactly alike. Small variations in the hammer marks are a sign of the handwork, not a defect.

How long does delivery take, and can I return it?

We deliver across the United Kingdom from our UK warehouse — EU delivery is coming soon. If something isn’t right, you have 14 days to return it for a refund; see our Shipping & Returns page for the full details.
