4 litres · Hand-hammered pure copper · Solid brass tap & stand
Copper Water Dispenser · 4 Litre
£69.99
Long before the kitchen had a filter jug, the Indian household had a matka — a copper vessel kept on the counter, filled at night and poured from through the day. Rasaniva's 4-litre dispenser is that vessel, made for the modern kitchen. Fill it in the evening; come the dark winter morning, there's copper-rested water waiting before the grey commute even begins.
This is the family piece — the whole-counter centrepiece, and a quietly handsome answer to the plastic filter jug. Pure, unlined copper inside and out: nothing sits between the metal and your water, no liner, no plastic. A smooth, drip-free solid-brass tap, a brass finial lid, and a raised brass stand to pour from. Hand-hammered in India, so no two glow quite alike — small variations in the finish are the mark of the handwork, not a fault.
It's tamra jal — water rested in copper overnight, a practice Ayurveda has kept for generations and one we've carried into modern homes. Water from solid metal simply tastes better, and a vessel this handsome on the counter is a glass you'll keep reaching for. For water only; an occasional rinse with lemon and salt brings the outside back to a shine.

Care, use & questions
Everything you need to keep your copper at its best.
How do I care for my copper?
Hand-wash only, with warm water and a little washing-up liquid, then dry straight away with a soft cloth. To bring back the shine, rub gently with half a lemon dipped in salt (or a cotton cloth with a little lemon juice and salt), rinse and dry. Do not put copper in the dishwasher.
Why has the colour changed?
Pure copper naturally darkens and develops a patina over time — this is normal and purely cosmetic, not a fault. Many people love the aged look and leave it. If you prefer the bright finish, the lemon-and-salt method above restores it in a minute or two.
Can I store water in it overnight?
Yes — resting water in a copper vessel overnight is the traditional Ayurvedic practice known as tamra jal, kept for generations, and these pieces are made for exactly that. Use them for plain water only — pure, unlined copper, the traditional specification.
What should I not put in it?
Water only. Avoid acidic or fizzy drinks (citrus, vinegar, carbonated drinks) and hot liquids in the bottles and dispenser, as acidity reacts with bare copper. The mugs and tumblers are made for cold drinks.
Is the copper lined?
No — every piece is unlined, pure copper inside and out, in the traditional specification. Nothing sits between the water and the metal.
Where is it made?
Each piece is hand-hammered and finished by hand in India, so no two are exactly alike. Small variations in the hammer marks are a sign of the handwork, not a defect.
How long does delivery take, and can I return it?
We deliver across the United Kingdom from our UK warehouse — EU delivery is coming soon. If something isn’t right, you have 14 days to return it for a refund; see our Shipping & Returns page for the full details.
